February 14, 2007 23:12 - Positive Thoughts - Learning to Get Beyond Positive Thoughts

Have you ever really considered the importance of positive thoughts? I've written about positive thinking all over my site for a year now. However, I'm constantly learning how to improve myself right along with you. I've realized lately that even though I'm extremely optimistic, I still allow myself negativity. While I've instilled in myself the act of filling my mind with positive thoughts, I've come to realize that I still allow myself to entertain a form of negative thinking.

February 15, 2007 22:22 - Create Mastery Through Conviction

I'd like to pass on a passage from Anthony Robbins' great personal growth book, "Awaken the Giant Within". I recommend you buy and read this book.

"Often the best thing you can do to create mastery in any area of your life is to raise a belief to the level of conviction. Remember, conviction has the power to drive you to action, to push you though all kinds of obstacles.

"Beliefs can do this as well, but some areas of your life may require the added emotional intensity of conviction.

"For ex., the conviction to never let yourself become overweight will compel you to make consistently healthy lifestyle choices...

"... So how can you create a conviction?
  • Start with the basic belief
  • Reinforce your belief by adding new and more powerful references. For ex., let's say you've decided to never eat meat again. To strengthen your resolve, talk to people who've chosen a vegetarian... lifestyle: what reasons prompted them to change their diet, and what have been the consequences on their health...? In addition, begin to study the physiological impact that animal protein has. The more references... and the more emotional the references are, the stronger your conviction will become.
  • Find a triggering event... ask, 'What will it cost me if I don't?' Ask questions that create emotional intensity in you.
  • Take action. Each action... strengthens your commitment and raises the level of your emotional intensity and conviction." p. 89

February 16, 2007 18:42 - Subconscious Mind and the Law of Reversed Effort

Today, I want to pass on a passage from, "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind", by Dr. Joseph Murphy:

"Mental effort is invariably self-defeated, eventuating always in the opposite of what is desired... your subconscious is always controlled by the dominant idea.

"... If you say, 'I want a healing, but I can't get it;' 'I try so hard;' 'I force myself to pray;'... you must realize that your error lies in your effort. Never try to compel the subconscious mind to accept your idea by exercising will power... you get the opposite of what you prayed for...

"... Students, when taking examinations and reading through their papers, find that all their knowledge has suddenly deserted them. Their minds become appalling blanks, and they are unable to recall one revelant thought. The more they grit their teeth and summon the power of the will, the further the answers seem to flee.

"But, when they have left the examination room and the mental pressure relaxes, the answers... flow tantalizingly back into their minds. Trying to force themselves to remember was the cause of their failure. This is an example of the law of reversed effort whereby you get the opposite of what you asked or prayed for." p. 101

February 17, 2007 20:49 - The Importance of Organizing Your Home Into a Place of Peace

I'd like to touch on the importance of organizing your home. You may not realize it, but a messy and cluttered home can have a negative impact on your abundance goals and over-all sense of empowerment. When you're working on a life of abundance, understand how much your home space affects you.

February 18, 2007 16:24 - Struggling to Become Wealthy? Increase Your Income a Little at a Time

Why I Love SBI

Case Studies of Successful Passion Websites

Video Tour - Making Your Own Successful Passion Website

From "The Millionaire Next Door", by Thomas J. Stanley & William D. Danko:

"Most people have it all wrong about wealth... Wealth is not the same as income. If you make a good income each year and spend it all, you are not getting wealthier. You are just living high. Wealth is what you accumulate, not what you spend.

"How do you become wealthy?

"Here, too, most people have it wrong. It is seldom luck or inheritance or advance degrees or even intelligence that enables people to amass fortunes. Wealth is more often the result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and, most of all, self-discipline.

"How come I am not wealthy?" pp.1-2

Stanley and Danko go on to explain their surprising secrets about how millionaires have become millionaires. One secret is that many millionaires arrived there through their own business.

If you dream about becoming wealthy, a simple place to start is whether you're spending more than you're making. Are you a credit junkie? If so, you need to first get your income over what you spend on basic living.

Sometimes, you can cut back. Sometimes, however, the only solution is more income. Since you're online reading this, I know, of course, that you have a computer and an Internet connection.

I also know that you have a passion. My passion is self improvement and personal growth. Hence, this website. I also have a passion for sports. Hence my football and basketball sites.

My point is this: If you need more income, don't have a way to do it at work or change careers, why not do what I've done? Simply build yourself a site about something you're passionate about on a part time basis. Before you know it, you'll have $200/$500/$1000/month extra coming in.

Then keep going and build it into a serious full time business if you want to. You need more income and the beauty of living in our time period, is that it can be done right from your computer in your home!

February 19, 2007 23:11 - Definition of Courage - Unique Look at the Definition of Courage

What's your definition of courage? Probably the most dominant idea of courage is the physical realm. You may look at someone who can parachute or fly an airplane as someone with courage. However, I look at the definition of courage with your mental capabilities at the forefront. Courage is having the conscience to do what's right even when doing what's right is painful. "Conscience is the root of all true courage; if a man would be brave let him obey his conscience." - James Freeman Clarke

February 20, 2007 19:11 - Getting Your Act Together

"Desire. Belief. Self-esteem. When you have these in alignment, you are a power to behold. But this process of alignment doesn't happen all at once. Sometimes it takes years. Other times it takes a... 'close call' to suddenly force you to wake up and get your act together...

"... Whether slowly or suddenly, you wake up one morning and realize that 'your someday is now'. You want it. You believe it. The seed you planted so long ago is now ripe and ready to bear fruit.

"It may seem like we're spending a lot of time on the inside stuff - but this is the hardest part. If you can get congruent, all the rest is child's play. Anyone can learn what to do. It's getting yourself to do it that's hard.

"Stephen Covey likes to quote Lincoln, who said, 'If I had eight hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend seven sharpening my ax.' Getting congruent is having a sharp ax.

"Most people get lost hacking their way through the jungle in pursuit of their goals. When you're congruent, you fly confidently over the jungle and land next to your objective to claim what you have so clearly envisioned.

"Getting your act together is the final key to manifesting what you want in your life." - Excerpt from p. 94 of The One Minute Millionaire, by Mark Victor Hansen & Robert Allen

February 21, 2007 21:30 - Life Challenges & Mental Toughness

"Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles." - Alex Karras

I read a story today about a man who was shot and paralyzed mistakenly by police. He was pulled over for something he wasn't involved with, an unfortunate scuffle broke out, and he was shot.

I really don't know how this man is doing today or how he's handling his situation. He was also blinded in one eye.

What it made me think about, however, is how relative our pain is.

I sat for a few minutes and tried to imagine living in this young man's shoes (he was only 27 when this happened). How would I respond during each day of my life after this happened? How would I cope late at night thinking of my new way of life?

It sure made any of my current life challenges seem trivial in comparison!

How about you? How would you cope if your fate was similar to this man's? Are the life challenges you face today looking a bit differently now?

I hope so. I really do hope that any challenges you may be facing in life today pale in comparison to being blind in one eye and paralyzed!

At the same time, any challenge we face is a challenge because we have to learn something in order to overcome it. It doesn't make your pain any less meaningful.

All I hope to do by passing on this story is to help you reach down and find the mental toughness you need to come closer to brighter days.

February 22, 2007 23:55 - Suberb, Powerful Message For When You're Struggling Through Despair

I received this outstanding message in an email. It was sent to somone who I care about deeply (more than words can say) and who is stuggling through a very rough time. I have no idea who the wrote this, but I think everyone should have the chance to read such a positive message:

"I'll tell you how I try to stay strong. I have been through it all: love, hate, loss. Being lonely in your head is the worst thing.

"I try surrounding myself with as many positive and good people as possible! I look for any kind of sign that there is a higher power looking over me! And in all of us.

"Do NOT lose faith and hope or you will lose it all! Whatever it is you are going through WILL pass. This may be a calling!!!

"There is a big force in all of us called GOD, whether you accept it or not! In the deepest and darkest hours, and in your deepest dispair, it will be there; all you have to do is call and believe in it! It really really really works and delivers every time!

"Time after time I have lost my faith in it, but no more!

"So, if I can send you this love and hope of faith then I have done my duty of the day.

"Trust yourself and in Him! And stay positive, whatever it takes to make the minutes go by, only time dictates what the outcome shall be!
"You are not alone! Trust me. I pray and hope for all and every one of us to be happy and healthy and for the power to watch over us! I will keep you in my prayers. I hope you find your way out safely and with prosperity!

"YOU ARE NOT ALONE! God bless! Peace."

February 23, 2007 23:12 - Trust Yourself - When You Can Trust Yourself, You'll Prosper

Be honest - are you one of those people who doesn't trust yourself? If so, understand that the ability to trust yourself is one of the biggest keys in achieving life abundance. Yes, we all make mistakes here and there, but you can't allow any of that to affect your self confidence...

February 24, 2007 13:42 - Visualizing Your Dreams - To Achieve Your Dreams, Visualizing is Key

Visualizing your dreams is the only way you can achieve your dreams. Visualization comes before belief. It doesn't matter how much you want to achieve life abundance and all that comes with it. You must believe that your goals are already realized and that it's just a matter of time before you're living your dream. It's a self fulfilling prophecy...

February 25, 2007 23:56 - Put Yourself in a Positive Life Environment

"Your environment will either stretch or shrink your ideas.

"In the right environment thinking is valued, ideas flow freely, fresh eyes are welcome, change is expected, questions are encouraged, egos are checked, ideas stimulate better ideas, and thinking generates teamwork.

"If you're struck in a wrong environment, then find one that encourages you." - Thinking for a Change, by John C. Maxwell p. 45

Maxwell's right. If you're in a negative situation, it's time to make a change for yourself. Your dreams for abundance and fulfillment in your life will be stifled in a troubling environment.

If the people and situations around you are wrong, decide to make a change for the better today!

February 28, 2007 23:02 - New Quotes & Quotations Page
