May 1, 2007 11:04 - Powerful and Inspiring Quotes

"You can't make the other fellow feel important in your presence if you secretly feel that he is a nobody." - Les Giblin

"Friendship flourishes at the fountain of forgiveness." - William A. Ward

"I will speak ill of no man and speak all the good I know of everybody." - Benjamin Franklin

- Quotes excerpted from The Power of Influence, by John C. Maxwell

May 2, 2007 21:25 - Just Do It!

"Most people who find out that I make my living by writing and directing television commercials and infomercials ask if I went to film school or majored in broadcasting or communications.

"When I say no, the next question asked is, 'Well, how did you learn to do what you do?'

"The answer is, I didn't learn to do what I do. I just did it."

The preceding quote is from A Millionaire's Notebook, by Steven K. Scott, p. 113.

I wanted to pass it on to you because I often get this question in my life regarding quite a few things.

For example, the other day I received a question from a friend named Charles. He's involved with phone sales and since he knows I used to do that for awhile in my past, he asked me how I learned to do it well.

I told him that although I read sales books and the like, I really became good at it because I just did it.

Another question I get is how I became good at working with computers. Did I go to a computer school?

No, I just started doing it. I just did it!

The same with my guitar playing. Sure, I took a few lessons in the beginning. But, then I sought to learn as much as I could on my own. I just did it!

Do you see a pattern emerging here?

If you want something in life. If you want to learn something new. If you want to become great at something.

Then...

Stop thinking about it. Stop talking about it.... JUST DO IT!

May 3, 2007 18:35 - I Recommend You Read "Who Moved My Cheese?"

A little quote from Who Moved My Cheese?, by Spencer Johnson, M.D...

"One sunny Sunday in Chicago, several former classmates, who were good friends in school, gathered for lunch, having attended their high school reunion the night before.

"They wanted to hear more about what was happening in each other's lives. After a good deal of kidding, and a good meal, they settled into an interesting conversation.

"Angela, who had been one of the most popular people in the class, said, 'Life sure turned out differently than I thought it would when we were in school. A lot has changed.'

"... Then Michael said, 'I used to be afraid of change. When a big change came along in our business, we didn't know what to do. So we didn't adjust and we almost lost it.

"'That is until I heard a funny little story that changed everything.

"'... the story changed the way I looked at change - from losing something to gaining something - and it showed me how to do it. After that, things quickly improved - at work and in my life.'

"'... What's the story?' Angela asked.

"'It's called Who Moved My Cheese?."

I recommend you learn the rest of the story by going out and getting the book. It's less than 100 pages and easy to read.

Yet, as Michael said, it can change your life.

May 4, 2007 21:48 - Regarding the Food, Pharmaceutical, Diet Industry Racket of Corruption

If you're struggling with your weight, I suggest you read, The Weight Loss Cure, by Kevin Trudeau.

He exposes the link between the drug companies, food companies, and the diet industry. I've already researched all this on my own, so I can attest that he's right when he exposes the corruption going on to make you sick.

Here's a few quick excerpts from pp. 28-31...

"Every bit of commercially produced fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, poultry, and fish is purposefully laced with thousands of man-made chemical agents, hormones, and drugs.

"Every commercially made grain or food product in a bag, box, jar, or can has been altered from the way nature intended.

"They are all, with the exception of 100% organic, loaded with some of the over 15,000 man-made chemicals that the U.S. Government allows to be put in the food. Most of the chemicals don't even have to be listed on the labels!

"The main reason why it's not your fault you're fat is that the American food supply is being produced purposely to make you fat!

"... It's not the calories, the fat, the protein, the simple or complex carbohydrates, the sodium, or the glycemic index rate of food that is the main culprit that is making you fat.

"It is the man-made chemicals, additives, and food processing techniques that are the main issues.

"It's the man-made trans fats, the man-made high fructose corn syrup, the man-made artificial sweeteners, the genetically modified food, the pasturization of food, the irritating and microwaving of food, the growth hormones and drugs in the meat and dairy products, the chemicals in the lotions and creams we put on our skin, and the chlorine and fluoride in the water we drink and bathe in that are the real reasons we get fat.

"... There's an emotional, mental aspect to food cravings as well... food companies use the most sophisticated mind programming technology when producing advertisments for certain foods.

"The television ads and print ads for food are designed to create emotional triggers that actually make us crave food when those triggers are set off.

"...Remember that the same group of about 300 families that control the world-wide pharmaceutical industry also control most of the publicly traded food producers and manufacturers."

Even if you don't have weight issues, you need to investigate the garbage you're putting into your body. You need to learn the big profits being made by making people sickly and then selling them the supposed pharmaceutical "cure" for it.

If you have kids, you really need to begin paying attention to the food they're being fed at school.

It's a racket and I hope you learn to get yourself out from under it.

May 5, 2007 22:11 - Will You Be One of the 90% Broke at Retirement Age?

I really hope you're not betting your "Golden Years" on your pension, 401(k), or IRA.

While these accounts will help a bit, they won't get you from age 65 to a possible age 100. And I really hope you're not betting your future happiness on Social Security.

Allow me to quote from The Retirement Myth, by Craig S. Karpel...

"... fewer and fewer people are going to be able to retire from here on in. I can't envision how a fifty-thousand-dollar-a-year household will be able to retire.

"Possibly if they're planning to retire soon. Maybe if there are two earners and their total income is a hundred thousand. But the percentage is going to be small.

"By the time members of the baby boom generation begin to enter their sixties very few fo them are going to be able to retire.

"The vast majority of baby boomers will find that Social Security, pensions, and savings won't provide them with enough income. There's no question that they're going to have an increased need to work when they're older.

"The question is whether the jobs will be there for them. For most baby boomers, retirement will be just another name for under-employment.

"I think we're going to see an increased need for jobs for older people without those jobs being available."

Most people won't pay attention to this warning. I hope you're not one of them.

A recent government study shows that 90% of the population is BROKE at age 65. Let me say that again: 90% are broke.

I hope you invest the time to investigate ways to earn more income.

I've decided to do it in the largest growing place in our society. The Internet. I invite you to explore the method that's helped me bring income in off this wonderful invention...

May 6, 2007 09:07 - Powerful Quotes to Get Your Mind Thinking Correctly

More quotes from The Power of Influence, by John C. Maxwell...

"You will acquire the vices and virtues of your closest associates. The fragrance of their lives will pervade your life." - John Maxwell

"The opinions which we hold of one another, our relationships with friends and kinsfolk, are in no sense permanent, save in appearance, but are as eternally fluid as the sea itself." - Marcel Proust

"A gossip is one who talks to you about others; a bore is one who talks to you about himself; and a brilliant conversationalist is one who talks to you about yourself." - Lisa Kirk

"By the time we realize our parents may have been right, we usually have children who think we are wrong."

"A person reveals his character by nothing so clearly as the joke he resents." - G.C. Lichtenberg

"When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends." - Japanese Proverb

"No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a part of the continent, a part of the main." - John Donne

May 7, 2007 20:31 - Develop Concentration & Focus: Change Your Life

I've found an amazing passage to pass on to you today. I hope you invest the next 30 seconds of your life to read it!

The following quote comes from Dugout Talk: Everything I Needed to Know I Learned From My Dad, by Bob Reeve, pp. 11-12...

"... The ability to concentrate is a strength that can be developed, and it's perhaps the determining factor in maximizing and maintaining a successful life.

"Most of us make mental errors in our relationships, occupations, and personal plans.

"Wives commonly complain about the lack of genuine attention received from their husbands. My wife calls it the 'marble eyes'. She talks to me but I'm not listening... 'the lights are on but no one is home'.

"At work, managers explain tasks to employees only to have the implementation messed up.

"Many of the challenges we experience have to do with our failure to mantain concentration. Your teenager struggles to recall her homework assignment, yet can sing flawlessly along with all the top ten songs.

"Concentration is a remarkable quality and makes life more productive.

"The focused person is the successful person!

"The great coach Lou Holtz tells a story involving Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. During a break at a television taping Jordan reportedly commented on his friend's extra weight.

"Charles Barkley is one of the greatest players of all time, but his response to the greatest player of all time was indicative of the difference between world champions and great players.

"Barkley replied that the season was still several weeks from beginning and the weight would come off at the right time.

Michael responded that a true leader, a true champion, would be working out extra hard in order to set the example for his team...

"Concentration and focus are your friends! Embrace them.

"Do you concentrate and implement God's words in your life, or do you just let it go in one ear and out the other? Don't be double-minded. Hold on to God's word.

"It is quite disillusioning to listen to people talk about their problems repeatedly but neglect to make changes. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, while expecting different results.

"Conversely, it is extremely fulfilling to work with a person, recommend a course of action, and see them implement it. When an individual truly desires something, there's little that can prevent them from attaining it.

"Do you want a better marriage? Then focus on what you need to do to be a better spouse.

"Do you need more money? Then pursue with relentless abandonment your passion and the income will follow.

"Do you desire to be better educated? Try turning off the television, putting your cell phone away, hiding the video games, and contact your local college about the next term's course offerings.

"If you want something badly enough, pursue it with all your might.

"BEAR DOWN! CONCENTRATE."

Change your life,

Matt

May 9, 2007 21:50 - The Value of Passion

"If it doesn't absorb you, if you don't love it, don't do it." - D.H. Lawrence

"I don't think you should ever manage something that you don't care passionately about." - Deborah Coleman

"Anything will give up its secrets if you love it enough." - George Washington Carver

"If the love of what you're doing exceeds the labor of doing it... success is inevitable." - Bob Beers

"If you're working on something exciting that you really care about, you don't have to be pushed. The vision pulls you." - Steve Jobs

"The five happiest people I have ever met all had this strange little quirk of referring to their jobs as a 'calling'." - Eric Sevareid
"If you want to make the days in your life really matter, then you must love something." - Kobi Yamada

"We're not sent into this world to do anything into which we cannot put our hearts." - John Ruskin

"Bad things don't happen because you care, they happen when you don't care." - Elizabeth Matthews

"When you hold back on life, life holds back on you." - Mary Manin Morrissey

May 10, 2007 23:00 - The Higher Resonance of Intention

"When you feel connected and in harmony with intention, you sense a major difference in how other people react to you.

"Be cognizant of these reactions, because they'll bear directly on your abilities to fulfill your individual intentions.

"The more closely you automatically resonate to the frequencies of the universal all-creating Source, the more that others will be impacted and their lower energies nullified.

"They'll gravitate toward you, bringing peace, joy, love, beauty, and abundance into your life...

"... When you coincide with intention, your impact on others has a calming influence. People tend to feel more at peace, less threatened, and more at ease.

"The power of intention is the power of love and receptivity. It asks nothing of anyone, it judges no one, and it encourages others to be free to be themselves.

"As people feel calmer in your presence, they're inclined to feel safe, by virtue of the energy of love and receptivity, causing them to want to reach out and be with you.

"As Walt Whitman put it: 'We convince by our presence.'"

-excerpt from The Power of Intention, by Wayne Dyer, pp. 97-98

May 12, 2007 08:22 - How to Make People Feel Important

"The most universal trait of mankind - a trait you and everybody else have...

a trait so strong that it makes men do the things that they do, good and bad...

is the desire to be important, the desire to be recognized.

"... Remember that the more important you make people feel, the more they will respond to you. Everybody wants to be treated as a somebody.

"Nobody wants to be treated as a nobody and when they are ignored or talked down to, they are being treated as just that.

"Keep in mind - to the other person, he is just as important to himself as you are to yourself.

"... Some tips on how to recognize people and make them feel important:

1. Listen to them
Refusal to listen to people is just about the surest way of making them feel unimportant and of rating them a nobody. Listening to them is just about the best way of making them feel important.

2.Applaud and compliment them
When they deserve it.

3. Use their names... as often as possible
Call people by their names... and they will love you.

4. Pause before you answer them
This gives them the impression you have thought over what they said and that it was worthy of thinking over.

5. Use their words - 'you' and 'your'
Not 'I, me, my, mine'

6. Acknowledge people who are waiting to see you
If they have to wait let them know you know they are waiting. This is really treating them as a somebody.

7. Pay attention to everybody in a group
Not to just the leader or spokesman. A group is more than one."

excerpt from "Skill With People", by Les Giblin, pp. 5-6

May 14, 2007 11:45 - Get Your Rest

If you're in a state of stress, you'll find it difficult to think and act in a way that leads to inner peace.

Stress quickens the body, makes it difficult to think clearly and can lead to bad decisions.

If you haven't taken time in the past for rest and relaxation, now's the time to change your thinking.

This is especially true when you're in your greatest state of turmoil. If you're drowning in debt or going through a bad relationship and feeling like you can't breathe, get yourself away from the situation for a little while.

Rest and relaxation is definitely a requirement as you're learning how to add abundance to your life...

May 16, 2007 09:48 - The Conscious & Subconscious Mind

There are two aspects to your mind. First, you have the conscious mind. This is the rational, thinking, decision-making part of your mind. Secondly, you have the subconscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is influenced by your conscious mind.

Don't gloss over this idea.

Your subconscious will accept without question what your conscious thoughts feed it. If you decide to feel positive thoughts, your underlying mind will bring about emotions of abundance, happiness or joy into your body.

On the other hand, it will allow despair, frustration or fear into your body if you signal it to do so.

Your subconscious mind is at your mercy. It can't decipher whether its actions are good or bad, positive or negative. Therefore, you have a huge responsibility in the type of thoughts you allow into your mind...

May 18, 2007 11:53 - Great Quotes From "The Power of Influence"

"Practice the 101% principle: Find the one thing you agree on with another person, and then give it 100% of your encouragement." - John Maxwell

"Don't use your people to build a great work; use your work to build a great people." - Jack Hyles

"There is no more noble occupation in the world than to assist another human being - to help someone succeed." - Alan Loy McGinnis

"If you are suffering from a bad man's injustice, forgive him lest there be two bad men." - Augustine

"There is a rule in sailing that the more maneuverable ship should give way to the less maneuverable craft. I think this is sometimes a good rule to follow in human relationships as well." - Dr. Joyce Brothers

"One man working with you is worth a dozen men working for you." - Herman M. Koelliker

"A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

May 19, 2007 15:03 - Finding Contentment

... The bad news, of course, is that you're unhappy right now. The good news? The good news, also, is that you're unhappy with the way things are.

Why do I say that? Because, I've met many people in my life that feel the discontentment you're feeling but never do anything about it.

You're obviously different because you're on my site trying to find some answers to your pain.

You're frustrated because you seek inner peace, abundance and a feeling of contentment in your life, but it just seems so far away.

You'll find the answer to contentment when you finally look within yourself and understand the battle raging between your ego self and your higher self. Right now, you're being ruled by the ego part of you...

May 20, 2007 12:09 - Dealing With Your Stress

If events in your life have you completely stressed out, you need to make some changes.

Finding inner peace requires a relaxed state of mind. Only when you can calm down will you allow abundance to flow to you.

Aside from the mental anguish feeling stressed out causes, you're also hurting your physical health. Your immune system can be affected quite a bit, depending on your level of anxiety.

Your anxiety can go from mental worry to physical sickness if you don't find ways to manage it.

If you're feeling unhealthy both physically and mentally, it's going to be that much more difficult to experience inner peace or calmness.
