September 1, 2007 10:03 - Leadership on a Personal Scale
Do you fall in the trap of thinking about leadership only in terms of business or government?
If so, I'd like to help shift your thinking in this area to relating leadership to a more personal level.
You are a leader. Yes, you.
It doesn't matter what you do in terms of career, whether you're married or single, whether you have children or not.
You have people in your life that you can provide leadership to.
When a friend asks you for advice or when a family member needs help with a troubling issue, your help in my eyes is leadership.
"The real leader has no need to lead - he is content to point the way." - Henry Miller
When you help those in need to simply get on track toward the right direction, you're manifesting leadership on a personal level that I feel is far more important than "leading" a business or government.
People are what matter and the people you can affect are those in your immediate vicinity.
"In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us." - Flora Edwards
Change your life,
Matt
September 5, 2007 23:11 - Investing in Real Estate Strategies
Investing in real estate can be your ticket to financial independence.
Most likely you have a great interest in how you can become successful through real estate but also have a great deal of fear regarding it.
Isn't that true? ... Pick one strategy that seems to fit you and just get started.
If you're in need of a little encouragement in your life right now, I want you to know that no matter your difficulties, you can and will make it through.
You are special.
You are strong inside.
You can withstand so much more than you're willing to give yourself credit for.
Whatever you're going through is teaching you something.
Yes, I know, it's hard to hear that kind of talk when the future looks bleak. However, you know from life experience that what I'm saying is true.
Endure, because coming soon are the bright days. Life is a series of peaks and valleys.
If today is a valley, tomorrow is a peak. Rejoice in that! Allow yourself hope.
"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open." - Alexander Graham Bell
Change your life,
Matt
September 11, 2007 15:11 - Inspiration for the Soul
I came across a great inspirational video today I think you'll enjoy.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit." - E.E. Cummings
September 13, 2007 20:12 - What Future Will We Create?
My quest for understanding my spirituality has brought me in contact with the field of quantum physics.
It's fascinating to merge the studies and knowledge of quantum physicists with the messages of the spiritual "gurus".
If you ask me, both camps are describing the same thing: human consciousness is in some way a collective consciousness.
We are not the separate entities we believe ourselves to be.
It's interesting for me also to see and sense the great anxiety and tumult in our physical world (war, government tyranny, corruption, etc). It seems to me that humans are at the edge of a new age.
A new age of understanding, knowledge, and consciousness that is causing many scared people to declare the Apocalypse, or some sort of destructive event.
I don't think so. I see a great awakening that is possible. Our minds are much more than we've ever imagined.
We can create the future we desire.
I guess the question is, will we create our future from the perspective of hope, love, and understanding or from the perspective of fear, greed, and paranoia?
I'll be writing more on this idea as time goes on. For now...
September 16, 2007 22:40 - Daniel Pinchbeck's Theories May be Based on Truth, but is he Really Bringing Enlightenment or Creating Confusion?
In my last post, I mentioned my personal belief that humankind is entering some sort of "new age".
Lately, I've been reading a book by Daniel Pinchbeck, called "2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl", which is all about this possible new age.
I'm not sure what to make of Pinchbeck. There are many aspects to his book that I like and agree with.
I definitely (from other sources I've read as well as my own personal spiritual experiences) agree with much of his belief that there's more to our world than the Matrix we've all been "taught" through our media, government, and "organized religion" up-bringings.
However, some things about Pinchbeck and his book cause me to question him.
In some areas of his book, Pinchbeck discusses other researchers I feel can't be trusted based on my own independent research (I may expand on this in a future post).
Maybe Pinchbeck doesn't know about this info, maybe my research is faulty, or maybe Pinchbeck is deliberately creating confusion? I don't know...
Anyway, I came across a video of Pinchbeck discussing some of his ideas and thought I'd present it to you so you can be exposed to the concepts.
Again, I agree with some of his ideas concerning spirituality and the idea that we need to re-connect with much of the hidden aspects to "awakening" of ancient civilizations.
I'm just qualifying this post by saying that the jury is still out in my mind as to whether he's a true independent spiritual seeker or whether he's affiliated in any way with the "establishment" and its desire to spread mis-information and confusion to the public.
It's up to you to investigate further and to make up your own mind. Any feedback from you on this would be welcomed by me.
Part 2 is here. From there, you can access the final parts in the series.
September 20, 2007 11:49 - Re-Incarnation Thoughts
Re-incarnation has always fascinated me.
I have to admit. I really have no idea whether this is a reality or not.
However, it makes sense to me that it could very well be a reality.
I subscribe to the Wayne Dyer theory we're spiritual beings having a human experience.
So to think that we may sort of pick our human experience beforehand in order to teach ourselves some sort of lesson seems to make sense.
On the other hand, if we're truly spiritual beings in an infinite sense, it also occurs to me that there must be many more planets besides Earth where we could have these experiences.
So, why would we continually come back here when we could go to many other galaxies?
So, I admit that re-incarnation could be nonsense also.
I truly don't know. This is an area I've been thinking about reading more about and I think it's time for me to finally do so seriously.
Here's a Wayne Dyer video where he gets into this a bit...
Part 2 is here. From there, you can find the remaining parts.

September 28, 2007 21:15 - Starting Over Is Always An Option!
Life is full of transition and change.
And for most people, change brings fear.
I, know, because I feel the same fear you do when my life either takes on a new and sudden change or I know that it's time to create that change.
One of the things I've noticed in myself and others I've talked to over my lifetime is that we often have pre-conceived notions about what is or isn't possible.
Based on ideas we've picked up over the years, we may feel as though we're too old to do something different in life.
We may feel we don't have enough money to switch gears concerning our life purpose.
We may tell ourselves that we don't have enough natural talent in a specific area, so we limit the opportunites we allow ourselves to pursue.
But you know what?
You have to rid yourselves of these limiting thoughts and beliefs. We've all heard stories of those who make major life changes in all age groups.
You've heard about people who made the shift from Wall Street to volunteering in Third World countries.
Anything is possible if you allow yourself to visualize it and then make the decision to simply roll with it!
"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." - Maria Robinson
