Descriptions of Spiritual Enlightenment - A Journal of Spiritual Enlightenment
As I do quite of bit of reading, I come across descriptions of spiritual enlightenment by a wide variety of authors and teachers.
As I've built my site, I've always contemplated the idea of creating a journal of the spiritual enlightenment ideas that make an impression on me.
I figure that whatever has a positive effect on me will do the same for you since you and I are quite similar in thought and need.
So, with this page, I begin my descriptions of spiritual enlightenment. As I will give full credit to those I'm quoting (as well the the resource I found it in), I trust they will take these reproductions in the light with which they're meant (to pass on vital knowledge while respecting and honoring who wrote that knowledge).
Descriptions of Spiritual Enlightenment: Wayne Dyer
"You can courageously deal with ego's fear and cowardice if you know that the part of God that you are is not separate from divine energy. That knowing provides the courage to shine the light of your inner love on the darkness of ego's fear. Thus illuminated, ego's idea - its illusion of you as exclusively a part of the physical world - is enlightened." Your Sacred Self, p.185
Descriptions of Spiritual Enlightenment: Michael Ray
"It (enlightenment) is in your nature, too. The process of finding your way to the highest goal, which (Sakyong) Mipham calls enlightenment, is what makes your journey through life meaningful. In a sense, as Mipham teaches, you already have enlightenment. And as you travel your path, you will find your own way to the highest goal." The Highest Goal, p. 30
Descriptions of Spiritual Enlightenment: Krishnamurti
"Enlightenment is where you are. And where you are, you have to understand yourself. Having established that, laid the foundation there of order - not mechanical order but order which is virtue from moment to moment, which is not following a pattern, not the order of the establishment, not the order or the virtue of society, which is immoral - then you can go into the question of finding out what meditation is." Total Freedom, p. 286
Change your life,
Matt
