Since you may still allow others to impact your self esteem, it can become frustrating that empowerment takes time to manifest in your life. I guess we could say this about most things in our lives. We live in a society that has taught us to place a premium on instant results.

An Earthly Cause
One of the reasons you feel frustrated over the fact that empowerment takes a while to manifest self confidence in your life is that you've been subjected to very powerful conditioning since birth.
You receive countless messages furthering the belief that any problem you have can be fixed in an instant. This can cause great anxiety when you find yourself struggling a bit to experience substantial change in your self esteem and feelings of empowerment.
So, of course, when you work for a while on your spiritual growth, self esteem, self confidence, etc, and don't experience fast change, you lament the fact that empowerment takes more than a minute.
Remember, though, that the idea of instant gratification is such a polar opposite of spiritual growth. Which legitimate spiritual teacher ever taught spirituality in a "TV dinner" or "get instant results for only $99" kind of way?
The answer is absolutely and positively none!

Sure, empowerment takes time. So does a meaningful relationship. So does bettering your mind. So does working on your spiritual growth. So does your personal growth process.
Everything that's vitally important in your life takes more than a minute to manifest and feel real to you.
Rest assured, my friend, that if you can break free from the "instant gratification" thought process and just focus on your spiritual journey, you'll discover your own personal enlightenment.
You'll discover that you love the fact that empowerment takes more than a minute. Your life becomes real. You cherish the process of growth in all areas of your life.
You get past all the falsehoods and find yourself. You discover a place deep inside yourself where a timeless soul soars beyond all earthly programming and thought.
