Is Fear of Success Frustrating You?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

This is actually much more common than you may realize and it can be a frustratingly confusing issue to deal with.

After all, you dream about becoming great at what you love to do.

You think all the time about how wonderful it’s going to be when you finally hit your achievement goals and have all the great stuff that’ll come with success.

The only problem is that you never seem quite ready to take yourself “over the hump” to achieving the life abundance you know you deserve.

And so you get down on yourself, wondering what’s wrong with you.

Why do you fear accomplishment? Why do you feel as though you sabotage yourself just when something big is about to happen for you?

I know a little bit about this issue because I’ve suffered from it… and still do.

Even though I’ve been able to overcome it for the most part, I still have to catch myself when those old fear of success feelings come over me.

I tell you that so you know that there’s not going to be a fancy “bullet” at the end of this article that magically takes these fears away from you.

However, it is possible to alter your thinking once you understand yourself better.

While there could be any number of issues going around in your mind that cause you to fear success, I believe much of it revolves around one word…

Responsibility.

I used to paralyze myself thinking about all the things that come with success other than the positive stuff, such as greater income, a better feeling about myself, etc.

“If I make a bunch of money, how will I handle the greater tax issue?”

“Should I incorporate, set up an LLC or a trust?”

“If I establish success, I’m going to have to work even harder to maintain it.”

“My life will become too complicated.”

“Maybe I don’t want a complicated life. Maybe I just like things the way they are.”

Now, I didn’t necessarily think these exact thoughts on a conscious level and maybe you don’t either.

However, I have a suspicion that if you sense you have a fear of success, your subconscious mind is thinking about this kind of stuff.

The amazing thing is that once you achieve more success, you realize that none of this stuff applies. Especially if you become successful at something you love.

I’m more busy than ever in my life in regards to my online businesses and ventures but I absolutely love doing it.

Rather than being more complicated, it’s amazing the kind of rest and relaxation you can negotiate into your life when you’re no longer struggling just to pay the bills and “survive”.

And a visit to a decent tax guy takes care of the tax/entity worrying.

OK, so what’s the solution?

How do you break free of the fear?

I already told you there’s no “magic bullet” ;-)

As I tell you so often within the pages of my site, only you know what it’s going to take to get your mind to the next level.

For me, it was when I began to take my spiritual growth to the next level that I was able to control my fear of worldly success.

By looking within and understanding better who I am exactly, I was able to realign my business activities with who was emerging.

Instead of being in sales, I re-discovered my love of writing. Hence, my Internet businesses.

You know what you need to do. Look within. Face the issues.

Discover who you really are, it will all become clear, and you’ll eventually learn how to overcome your fear of success.

It takes working on who you are. You may have to read one more book, visit one more site, meditate one more time…

But I promise that the “work” is fun and it will release you from the endless cycle of “a little success, a setback, a little success, a setback” that you’re on now.
