Finding Your Spiritual Gifts - Your Journey For Finding Your Spiritual Gifts

Finding your spiritual gifts is an exciting process that you should be sure to enjoy and savor.

This journey of finding your spiritual gifts is also one where you need not be rushed, nor influenced in any way by the ideas of others.

Normally, the subject of spiritual gifts is related exclusively to Christianity, as they are discussed in 1 Corinthians 12 - 14 and Romans 12. However, I'm going to suggest that the spiritual gifts are available to you no matter your religious viewpoints.

If you've invested a little time to read the spiritual growth and abundance areas of my site, you know that I choose a sense of spirituality rather than be pigeon-holed into one religion.

Finding your spiritual gifts is something you can do no matter your beliefs. Take a look at some of the spiritual gifts: healing, speaking in tongues, leadership, administrations, mercy, help, admonition, discerning of spirits, prophecy, and teaching.

I'll say it once again, I believe that all religions and spiritual viewpoints boil down to teaching mostly the same spiritual ideas if you can get past the specific rules and regulations of each.

In talking about finding your spiritual gifts, 1 Corinthians 12:7-8 says, "if it is to serve, we should serve, if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever has authority should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully.".

I don't care if you're into Buddhism, you can use your spiritual gift of "teaching". You can blossom your spiritual gift of healing even if you follow the ancient Indian teachings.

I've read Christian accounts that the spiritual gifts are available only to Christians. I just can't subscribe to this. This is exactly the kind of limited thinking that turns me off from locking myself into one way of experiencing my spirituality.

The more I research "religion" and "spirituality", the more I'm convinced that we must remain open to the words of all great spiritual teachers. They all have so much to pass on to us, yet so much of it is the same teaching wrapped in a different color of wrapping paper.

Finding your spiritual gifts is a deeply personal journey. Probably the most important aspect of it is staying open even when that journey takes you into uncomfortable territory.

Sometimes, God will put you in situations where you must learn that you do have a spiritual gift you always resisted. For example, you may feel that leadership is a weak point for you, but find that leadership opportunities keep presenting themselves to you.

That's all part of finding your spiritual gifts. If you get over your fears or feelings of inadequacy, you can learn so much about yourself and become a more spiritual being in the process.

To me, when it comes to finding your spiritual gifts, God or whatever you choose to call the "higher spiritual energy", doesn't care what religion or spiritual paradigm you prescribe to.

Change your life,

Matt
