Free Your Mind Of Spiritual Fear

Eventually, you must free your mind from fear.

Today, I was talking with a friend about our lives. She and I have many of the same ideas about spirituality and life in general.

As we were talking, she said something that got me thinking about why so many people live unenjoyable or empty spiritual lives.

She said that too many people are just filled with fear and that most don't even know what it is that they're afraid of. They just have this vague feeling of fear that seems to invade their mind and soul.

Do you live this way? If so, it's important for you to identify what's causing this fear so you can free your mind from it.

One of the things that came out of our discussion today was the most basic fear many people have:

What happens when we die?

My friend believes that religion is our way of trying to cope with the fact that our spiritual self is actually alone.

Many people seek a God "out there" because they can't accept that our spirit is ultimately alone in this quest we call human life.

I agree with my friend on this and humbly suggest that you free your mind of all your "taught" ideas regarding God and your religion. I talk elsewhere in my spiritual growth and manifesting abundance sections about my ideas on religion and my belief that "God" is within you.

For today, I want you to just honestly question all your beliefs. Are your religious beliefs true? How do you know this? If no one really is going to know the truth until their death, how do you know that the belief you just happened to be exposed to because of the environment and family you were born into is accurate?

What if religion is just our human way of dealing with the fear of the unknown? What if all the rules and regulations ultimately mean nothing in the end?

Free your mind of all this stuff and reflect from deep within you. Find the answers, find God, inside of your own soul.

When you die, your soul is what you'll be left with. There won't be any memorized prayers or hymns in your afterlife. Just you. Your essence. Your spiritual energy.

Are you learning what your eternal soul needs to learn? Or are you succumbing to the basic human fear of spirituality and seeking the answers from someone else? Understand that they won't be there in the end when it's time to review your life here on earth.

I'm not saying that you have to abandon your religion. I'm just saying be open to questioning it. For a time, just free your mind of it all, start from the beginning and make sure it truly is right for you. Be sure you're not hiding in your religion in order to avoid discovering the honest, authentic spiritual you.

As I re-read what I've just written for you, I almost want to delete it and start over. I feel as though I've just rambled a bit without offering you any concrete ideas. But I think I'll keep it as is. I may not have suggested anything concrete, but hopefully I've gotten you to at least think outside your box.

I hope I've gotten you to think about the most basic fear you maybe didn't even know you had: the fear of what your eternal soul is really all about.

Face it because you are alone in this sense. I don't fear this kind of ultimate loneliness. You shouldn't either. Thirst for the knowledge of what you're truly all about and you'll find that it's actually a very enjoyable ride.

Change your life,

Matt Zavadil
