Learn To Give

Learning to give is an important step to realizing a life of abundance.

This can be a foreign concept for many people. We live in a society where a lot of focus is placed on "getting for oneself".

But if abundance is what you seek, no matter the area, it's vital that you provide value to others, too. As you do this, you'll be amazed at what you receive in return.

Abundance comes from learning to accept things you can't change as they are, improving the things you can change, and learning to give more of yourself to others.

There are many ways you can give to others.

Your Encouragement
Offering encouragement makes a major impact on others. Sometimes, all a troubled person needs is to have someone listen.

If you ever notice that a family member, friend or even stranger is upset over something, watch the transformation they go through when you ask what's wrong and then really listen to them.

You may not know how to solve their issues, but just letting them talk and to know that someone cares about them is gift from you to them.

I've noticed that people respond so well when you offer them encouragement. We all have doubts about our abilities in certain areas. When you give encouragement to someone, watch the smile on their face. Notice how their whole approach to the situation changes.

I once had a person mentoring me in my real estate efforts. At one point, he told me I know what I need to know and it was time for me to make it happen. Those few words of encouragement meant everything to me! I needed him to point that out and I was on my way.

Your Money
This can be an effective way to have an impact on people. Some issues are just simply financial issues.

There was a time in my life when I was experiencing extreme financial hardship. I was fortunate enough to have parents who stepped in and provided me some relief. They helped me financially through a rough time.

That help was all I needed to get back on my feet and to become independent again. It gave me time to learn how I had gotten in trouble and how to structure my life so it wouldn't happen again.

Thanks, Mom & Dad. I hope you know what that meant to me.

Your Time
There are some cases where you can give your time and be an immense help. There are many organizations right in your own community that need volunteers. You can help children, senior citizens, people with illnesses, etc.

If you give your encouragement, money or time, you'll find that you're not only creating abundance for others, but that you'll be seeing abundance come back to you.

Remember one of the most basic spiritual principles which says that "giving is receiving".
