Become Happier, Improve Your Self Confidence and Live A Life Of Abundance
How do you become happier if you're lacking self confidence and feeling down?
The first thing you need to do is find out why you're troubled. Begin to look within yourself for the answers. I'm going to say it again:
Work on your spiritual growth. You already hold all the answers to becoming happier. You need to pay attention to your inner self.
"God is the repository of all happiness; and you can contact Him in everyday life. Yet man mostly occupies himself in pursuits that lead to unhappiness." - Paramahansa Yogananda, in Man's Eternal Quest
As you begin to pay attention to your inner, higher self, let me give you some ideas to get you on your way to improving your self confidence and living a life of abundance.
Stop the Comparisons
Do you allow yourself to compare yourself to other people who have what you want, seem to have more self confidence than you or seem to be successful? If so, this needs to stop.
I sometimes think about how differently we'd all perceive our lives if we weren't bombarded by the images of success we see on TV. You need to realize that maybe 1% of people live in mansions, make millions and live a party.
Also, realize that most of today's "successes" aren't automatically feeling better than you. Many are unhappy inside, feeling unfulfilled. There's a reason many of them end up in divorce and addicted to one thing or another.
You need to forget all that. Look within yourself. What makes you happy?
For me, I work at achieving greater wealth so I can do more things for my family and others. But, I've learned not to associate how much I'm worth with how happy I am. In the past, I did make myself miserable by comparing myself with others.
But, as I developed and learned who I am spiritually, I began to see that my happiness comes from within, not without.
My hope is that you learn this lesson of life, also.
Put Yourself First
I don't mean this in a selfish way where you don't care about the needs of others.
Unhappiness, though, can sometimes come from always putting the needs of others ahead of yours. Do you sacrifice your needs in order to make everyone else feel better?
Understand that this is detrimental to your own pursuits for abundance. You need to learn when to say "no" so you can concentrate on you. Remember, you can't be of much help to someone else when you feel miserable.
Learning Experience
If something in your life is making you unhappy, instead of letting it take you over, why not look at it as a learning experience? Again, look within and ask yourself what lessons are to be learned here.
Spiritually speaking, we are put into life situations for a reason. If you don't learn the lesson, most likely you'll find yourself in a similar situation again and again until you learn the life lesson.
Are you being stubborn about learning your lessons? Learn and adapt and you'll find you become happier and feel more self confidence about who you are.
Exercise
Exercise releases certain "feel-good" chemicals like dopamine and beta-endorphins.
I still become amazed what a 30-minute run can do for me. If I'm struggling with something, I find that I think during the run and come to solutions that will make me happier about the situation.
Yes, you can become a happier person. You can improve your self confidence. You can live a life of abundance.
Look within yourself. Ask yourself what you need. Act on that knowledge.
Change your life,
Matt
