That is NOT all there is!
by: Matt DeSilva

Hi Barbara,

I'm sorry to hear about your personal issues you described, and of course, about your son.

Let me start with you: There's nothing I can say through this message that will instantly transform your life. However, I have some suggestions that I believe will help you.

In regards to your issue of struggling for independence, acceptance of others, fear, and guilt.

When you experience these types of feelings, most of the time it's traced back to something in your past (most likely childhood) that causes you to live in this emotional state.

"For the first five or six years the child's (self-esteem) is formed by the family almost exclusively. After he starts to school, other influences come into play, but...(o)utside forces tend to reinforce the feelings of worth or worthlessness that he has learned at home." - Virginia Satir in Peoplemaking

Therefore, Barbara, you must first trace back and figure out where you learned these negative beliefs about yourself. Then, and only then, can you begin to work on reversing these thoughts and beliefs.

There are two sources I'd like to introduce you to that will absolutely help you work through these issues and come out the other side a confident, positive and "re-born" person:

"Ask and It Is Given", by Esther & Jerry Hicks

"Psycho-Cybernetics 2000", by Maxwell Maltz

Both of these books have exercise protocols to help you identify and fix the issues you brought up.

In particular, pages 144-147 of "Psycho-Cybernetics 2000" detail a man who endures the surprise death of his wife and how he learns to stay a vibrant dad to his 3 young children. Powerful stuff...

Next, I want to recommend "Tapping the Healer Within", by Dr. Roger Callahan. Just get it, read it, and use his techniques! You'll be truly amazed.

For your son: Please get and both of you read "The Only Answer to Cancer", by Dr. Leonard Coldwell. This man CURES cancer.
