A Lasting Step in Overcoming Fear
If overcoming fear is something that’s hard for you to do, maybe I can offer you a little hope today.
First of all, have you ever considered that much of your fear stems from a lack of spiritual awareness?
If you think about it, human beings as a whole are a pretty fearful bunch.
Our governments use fear to “keep us in line” and to help us conclude that more government is what we need to be “safe”.
Multinationals use fear to sell you their products… you don’t want to end up fat and unwanted… you don’t want to be unprepared if someone breaks into your home, etc.
I believe that many people seek for answers outside of themselves.
But how can you ever find a solution to fear in a fear-based world… a world that feeds and thrives on that dark emotion?
Wouldn’t it make sense that inner peace and calm will more likely be found by looking within the stillness of your soul?
Overcoming Fear Why Are We All So Afraid?
If you’re like most people, you probably live your life with a steady undercurrent of fear and anxiety.
Even in times of happiness and joy, you have this underlying worrying going on, don’t you?
I don’t profess to being “all knowing” in this area because I’m just a regular person like you and I go through the same thing.
But I have thought about this a lot over the last year or so of my life.
One of my theories is that collectively we all sense that maybe humankind is getting close to some sort of new dimension or change of the species.
Maybe we’re raising our consciousness and that strong undercurrent of fear comes from our lack of understanding as to where we’re going spiritually.
Or maybe I’ve read too much stuff about the Mayan Calendar and other such “end of times” stuff.
Who knows? ;-)
My main point here is that overcoming fear goes beyond simply “forging ahead” until the fear disappears.
This is the advice we hear a lot regarding how to overcome the fear of rejection, fear of success, fear of failure, etc.
If you’re like me, you’d like to rid yourself of that underlying fear that seems to pervade your entire being, right?
Overcoming Fear A Lasting Step in the Right Direction
All I can offer up here is my own experience and what seems to work for me.
The first thing to realize is most of the things you or I feel afraid of or anxious about never come to pass.
Think about that and really internalize it.
How many things have you worried about over the last three months? How many things have you been walking around being afraid of lately?
How many of those terrible things actually played themselves out in the horrible and terrible ways your mind came up with?
Not many, huh? Maybe none of it came true. Maybe some bad things happened to you but it all pales in comparison to the doomsday scenarios raging inside your mind.
If you deeply internalize that concept, it should bring a layer of calmness to your being.
From there, invest time in meditation. I’ve tried different ways to do this and I don’t know if one method is the “be all” way.
The point is to look within yourself and to find that calming presence that tells you “everything’s going to be all right”.
Is this God, the collective consciousness, etc? I’m still working on that one. All I know is that by meditating and finding glimpses of true inner peace, my overall fear is fading slowly.
I believe this is a step in the right direction to overcoming fear in a way that is lasting and permanent.
I pray it helps you in some powerful way.

Change your life,
