Keys To Personal Motivation

If you really want to have a strong sense of personal motivation, you'll need to have a life plan mapped out.

First of all, without a sense of direction or focus, how can you expect to achieve abundance in any area of your life?

Secondly, how can you expect to stay motivated toward your goals and dreams if you don't have that sense of direction solidified in a written plan? You and I both know that reminders in writing are much more powerful than random thoughts floating around in our minds.

Half the battle in personal motivation is constantly reminding yourself what you're fighting for.

Anything worth attaining in life takes consistent and concentrated effort. Since there are a million things you could be doing in any hour of your life, can you see why it's important to stay focused on activities that will result in your life abundance?

In working with people in my various business pursuits, I've identified two factors most responsible for a lack of personal motivation. Be honest with yourself and ask yourself if you need to get better in these two areas.

Most people have no idea what their true dream is. Do you know this about yourself? What dream do you have that burns so intensely inside that you can't stand it?

If you can't identify this, I suggest that you spend a few hours, days or weeks reflecting on who you really are inside. Why haven't you identified your goals and dreams? Are you afraid of trying? What is it?

Until you know the answer to what you want in life, you'll stuggle with personal motivation. You must discover what your purpose is beyond going to work, eating dinner and going to the movies on the weekend.

Some people discover this as a teenager. Some discover it when they're 55. No matter how old you are, why not discover it now?

The second factor responsible for a lack of personal motivation is a lack of thoughtful planning and visualization.

It's not enough to just know where you want to end up. You must develop a written plan of action that you update frequently.

Something powerful happens when you commit your dreams to paper. It becomes more real in your heart and mind. This is the most important aspect of developing personal motivation and turning your dreams into reality.

In your mind, you have to think about your goals and dreams as already having been accomplished. Think of it all in the present tense. Think as if you've already accomplished it all and your mind will believe it's your destiny.

Your mind will then force you to make happen what it believes to be already true. This type of visualization will also attract into your life other people and circumstances that help you achieve your goals.

Developing an indestructible sense of personal motivation comes from knowing intensely your dreams, committing them to paper, and visualizing them so strongly that you send out the life energy that attracts your dreams to you.

"You can often measure a person by the size of his dream."
- Robert H. Schuller

Change your life,

Matt
