You identify with past events as if they're happening right now. What you need to realize is that your past is not your present. Or your future for that matter. It's time to develop a mental toughness where you almost forget you had a past. Obviously, your past will always be there. But it's this identity you place on it that causes so much pain. This is more of a spiritual matter (and a key to understanding the powers of the mind), but you need to think in terms of Now, not yesterday.
