Take Time For Rest And Relaxation When You Need It

Rest and relaxation is definitely a requirement as you're learning how to add abundance to your life.

If you're in a state of stress, you'll find it difficult to think and act in a way that leads to inner peace. Stress quickens the body, makes it difficult to think clearly and can lead to bad decisions.

If you haven't taken time in the past for rest and relaxation, now's the time to change your thinking. This is especially true when you're in your greatest state of turmoil. If you're drowning in debt or going through a bad relationship and feeling like you can't breathe, get yourself away from the situation for a little while.

You'll discover that you'll come back feeling more refreshed and you may have even come up with an idea or two to improve your situation. When you allow yourself a little rest and relaxation, you help relieve some of the fear and anxiety. This allows your mind to slow down and think abundantly, rather than negatively.

Here are some ways you can give yourself a break:

  • Meditation
  • Warm shower or bath
  • Walk or run
  • Get proper sleep
  • Yoga
  • Invest time in your favorite, relaxing hobbies
  • Listen to music
  • If you live near the beach or a lake, use it
  • Read
  • Take in a movie
  • Go camping
  • Hiking
Although some of these activities may be called recreation more than rest and relaxation, I personally feel they serve the same purpose. When I go to a movie or go for a walk, it relaxes me. It takes my mind off anything that I may be struggling with.

I really can't stress how important this area of your life is. In the past, I didn't see the value of allowing myself to slow things down. I wouldn't let myself get away from any pain I may have been experiencing.

I would try to "work" through it. I would bang my head against the wall and end up getting burned out in frustration. I felt tired and spent.

I didn't come close to realizing abundance in any part of my life until I finally saw how beneficial rest and relaxation is.

Learn from me. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Allow yourself a break when you need it and come back refreshed and ready to take on the world.
