Self Motivation
and Development Tips

Everyone wants to know how to improve their self motivation and development. Here's a few self motivation tips I focus on to improve my over-all life abundance:

Self Motivation and Development
Take It Seriously

First of all, you must make your self development a top priority. Don't be someone who pays it "lip service", but never takes any action to improve your life.

Learn to love learning. That's mainly what self development is, right? You're thinking about who you are, what's important to your happiness and abundance and how you can accomplish it.

It's a learning process... about you.

Self Motivation and Development
Fun/Work

Learn to create a positive mixture of fun and work in your life.

If all you do is spend your time and energy on fun, you won't get much of anything meaningful accomplished.

If you're a work-a-holic, you'll burn yourself out and won't be very nice to be around. You sure won't feel like you're creating abundance for yourself.

Discipline yourself. Set up a reward system. I love to watch sports. Many times, I'll record the event on TiVo, then reward myself with a commercial-free viewing after I've gotten my work done.

The best mixture is to create a life where your work is fun. For example, when the "work" I have to get done in order to watch my sports event is working on this website, it's double the fun because the word "work" isn't how I'd describe my website. I absolutely love "working" on it!

Self Motivation and Development
Take A Risk

Have you ever wanted to accomplish something so much that you almost became afraid of it?

Here's an example of that in my life: I've always been fascinated with investing in real estate. I read about, went to seminars, listened to DVD's and tape sets, yet never did anything!

Finally, after about 10 years from the time I read my first book on the subject, I had a deep conversation with myself. I had to ask myself what in the world was I thinking? What was I waiting for? There wasn't ever going to be a perfect time to do it.

Finally, I took the risk. But it wasn't really a risk. I'd definitely prepared myself with all that research. After the first property closed, I couldn't believe how simple the whole thing really was.

Overcoming my fear and getting out of my comfort zone improved my self motivation and development. I now had more self motivation to buy more real estate and I was working on a new area of my self development.

What important "risk" are you waiting on that could lead to more abundance in your life if you just acted on it?

Self Motivation and Development
Success

What's your definition of success? Sometimes a lack of motivation comes from simply chasing someone else's success path.

Are you trying to be successful in an area that you know deep inside isn't really that important to you? If so, your self development is taking a hit because you're not focusing on your issues.

Define what idea of success would make you ultimately happy and watch your self motivation and over-all abundance soar.

Self Motivation and Development
Do Something

You can probably throw out everything else I've said above and just focus on this one ;-)

Nothing improves self motivation and development more than just getting up off your butt and doing something that somehow moves your life forward in a positive way.

  • You want financial abundance? Go do something.
  • You want spiritual abundance? Go discover something about yourself.
  • You want health abundance? Go eat something healthy/Throw out the junk food.
  • You want more abundance of the mind? Turn off the TV and go read a good book on self motivation and development.

Can it really be that easy? Yes, if you choose it to be so.

"I am only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I
can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will
not refuse to do the something that I can do."

- Edward Everett Hale

Change your life,
