Your Spiritual Wellness Leads to Inner Peace and Abundance
What is spiritual wellness?
Spiritual wellness is a measure of your ability to live a life of inner peace.
Are you able to form a value and ethics system that allows you to make decisions your higher self can live with?
It's also a process of self discovery. As you understand what you need to be filled with inner peace and abundance, you're able to act accordingly.
The first step is to simply pay attention to your inner voice and feelings of intuition. Only you can lead yourself to the answers that show you how you should live, what goals and aspirations you should be working on, what your life philosophy is, etc.
One way to gauge your spiritual wellness is looking at how much time you allow for reflecting on your spirituality. Are you open-minded or do you close yourself off relatively quickly because something sounds too "out there"?
You may not know all the answers - don't worry, no one does ;-) - but you need to take the time to develop your goals and dreams in life. Take the time to think about what's already happened in your life and what you can take from them and learn.
I'll let you in on something regarding my spiritual wellness that may give you some insight into yours. As I write these words, it's the one year anniversary of my grandmother passing away.
I regret to tell you that I didn't know her all that well. My parents were divorced when I was about a year old, so I spent more time growing up with my Mom's parents and my step-Dad's parents. But I do know that my grandma was a truly special person. And she always kept in touch with my Mom and I.
She passed away from cancer. Last year my Mom and I went to FL to be with her during the last two weeks of her life. I can't tell you how hard it was to see someone who used to be so vibrant and fun-loving just lying there unable to speak, eat or drink most of the time.
But there were a few flickering moments during those days when she was right there with us. It meant everything to me to know she knew I was there. I only saw my grandma a few times in my life, but I always felt this strong attraction to her. I always loved it when she would talk to me and just say my name.
What does this have to do with my spiritual wellness? Well, as I did a little research on spiritual wellness, mixed with struggling with my memory of my grandma, I realized that I haven't been listening to my inner voice when it comes to my extended family.
I live in Los Angeles and everyone else lives up and down the East Coast. For years, I've meant to take the time to visit more than my usual once a year. And to go see more of my family than only my parents. I remember thinking how important this was last year flying home after seeing my grandma.
So, why, a full year later haven't I done this? As I'm always telling you on the pages of my site, only I have the answer ;-)
But as I've mentioned, the first aspect of spiritual wellness is truly listening to your inner self. My inner self is telling me what's important and it's time I acted on it.
I hope my story here has helped trigger something in you that may be blocking your path to spiritual wellness, inner peace and abundance. Is there someone in your life you need to reach out to before it's too late? A fence that needs to be mended?
Is there something you need to do that will help your over-all spiritual wellness?
Please learn from my experience and do it now. I've learned that I waited too long with my grandma. That makes me sad. But, you know what? Instead of centering on feeling bad, I've realized that my grandma's situation has taught me a lesson that I can choose not to repeat with the rest of my loved ones.
Sometimes, working on this website helps me more than anyone. Thanks for allowing me to get my thoughts down on one aspect of my own spiritual wellness. Now, take the time to listen to your thoughts.
What do you need to feel more inner peace and abundance? What lessons have you already been taught that you've been ignoring like I have? Listen to your inner voice. Reflect on your life and your spirituality.
Change your life,
Matt
